वारितो मदयन्त्यापो रुशतीः पादयोर्जहौ । दिशः खमवनीं सर्वं पश्यन् जीवमयं नृपः ॥ ९-९-२४ ॥
But his wife, Madayantī, forbade him to do so. Then the King saw that the ten directions, the sky and the surface of the globe were full of living entities everywhere. ॥ 9-9-24 ॥

किन्तु उसकी पत्नी मदयन्ती ने उसे ऐसा करने से रोका। तब राजा ने देखा कि दसों दिशाओं, आकाश तथा पृथ्वी पर सर्वत्र जीव ही जीव थे। ॥ ९-९-२४ ॥
