Srimad Bhagavatam
स्वर्गो न प्रार्थितो यस्य मनुजैरमरप्रियः । शृण्वद्भिरुपगायद्भिरुत्तमश्लोकचेष्टितम् ॥ ९-४-२४ ॥
The citizens of the state of Mahārāja Ambarīṣa were accustomed to chanting and hearing about the glorious activities of the Personality of Godhead. Thus they never aspired to be elevated to the heavenly planets, which are extremely dear even to the demigods. ॥ 9-4-24 ॥
english translation
महाराज अम्बरीष की प्रजा भगवान् के महिमामय कार्यकलापों के विषय में कीर्तन एवं श्रवण करने की आदी थी। इस प्रकार वह कभी भी देवताओं के परम प्रिय स्वर्गलोक में जाने की इच्छा नहीं करती थी। ॥ ९-४-२४ ॥
