तस्य पुत्रः शतानीको याज्ञवल्क्यात्त्रयीं पठन् । अस्त्रज्ञानं क्रियाज्ञानं शौनकात्परमेष्यति ॥ ९-२२-३८ ॥
The son of Janamejaya known as Śatānīka will learn from Yājñavalkya the three Vedas and the art of performing ritualistic ceremonies. He will also learn the military art from Kṛpācārya and the transcendental science from the sage Śaunaka. ॥ 9-22-38 ॥

जनमेजय का पुत्र शतानीक ऋषि याज्ञवल्क्य से तीनों वेद और कर्मकाण्ड सम्पन्न करने की कला को सीखेगा। वह कृपाचार्य से सैन्य कला भी सीखेगा तथा शौनक मुनि से दिव्य ज्ञान प्राप्त करेगा। ॥ ९-२२-३८ ॥
