त्रिविष्टपं महेन्द्राय यज्ञभागान् समाददुः । गुरुणा हूयमानेऽग्नौ बलभित्तनयान् रजेः ॥ ९-१७-१५ ॥
however, although they agreed to return Indra’s shares in ritualistic ceremonies. Thereafter, Bṛhaspati, the spiritual master of the demigods, offered oblations in the fire so that the sons of Rajī would fall from moral principles. ॥ 9-17-15 ॥
english translation
यद्यपि वे इन्द्र का यज्ञ-भाग लौटाने के लिए राजी हो गये। तत्पश्चात् देवताओं के गुरु बृहस्पति ने अग्नि में आहुति डाली जिससे रजी के पुत्र नैतिक सिद्धान्तों से नीचे गिर सकें। ॥ ९-१७-१५ ॥
