स होवाच मधुच्छन्दाः सार्धं पञ्चाशता ततः । यन्नो भवान् सञ्जानीते तस्मिंस्तिष्ठामहे वयम् ।। ९-१६-३४ ।।

sanskrit

When the elder Madhucchandās were cursed, the younger fifty, along with Madhucchandā himself, approached their father and agreed to accept his proposal. “Dear father,” they said, “we shall abide by whatever arrangement you like.” ।। 9-16-34 ।।

english translation

जब बड़े पचास मधुच्छन्दाओं को शाप मिल गया तो मधुच्छन्दा समेत छोटे पचास पुत्र अपने पिता के पास गये और उनके प्रस्ताव को यह कहकर स्वीकार किया, “हे पिता, आप जैसा चाहेंगे हम उसी को मानेंगे।” ।। ९-१६-३४ ।।
