एवमैश्वर्यमत्तस्य दृप्तस्योच्छास्त्रवर्तिनः । कालो महान् व्यतीयाय ब्रह्मशापमुपेयुषः ।। ७-४-२० ।।

sanskrit

Hiraṇyakaśipu thus passed a long time being very much proud of his opulences and transgressing the laws and regulations mentioned in the authoritative śāstras. He was therefore subjected to a curse by the four Kumāras, who were great brāhmaṇas. ।। 7-4-20 ।।

english translation

इस प्रकार अपने ऐश्वर्य से अत्यधिक गर्वित एवं प्रामाणिक शास्त्रों के विधि-विधानों का उल्लंघन करते हुए हिरण्यकशिपु ने काफी समय बिताया। अतएव उसे चार कुमारों ने, जो कि प्रतिष्ठित ब्राह्मण थे, शाप दे दिया। ।। ७-४-२० ।।
