शौर्यं वीर्यं धृतिस्तेजस्त्याग आत्मजयः क्षमा । ब्रह्मण्यता प्रसादश्च रक्षा च क्षत्रलक्षणम् ॥ ७-११-२२ ॥
To be influential in battle, unconquerable, patient, challenging and charitable, to control the bodily necessities, to be forgiving, to be attached to the brahminical nature and to be always jolly and truthful — these are the symptoms of the kṣatriya. ॥ 7-11-22 ॥

युद्ध में प्रभावशाली, अजेय, धैर्यवान, तेजवान तथा दानवीर होना, शारीरिक आवश्यकताओं को वश में करना, क्षमाशील होना, ब्राह्मण नियमों का पालन करना तथा सदैव प्रसन्न रहना और सत्यनिष्ठ होना—ये क्षत्रिय के लक्षण हैं। ॥ ७-११-२२ ॥
