अथ कश्यपपत्नीनां यत्प्रसूतमिदं जगत् । अदितिर्दितिर्दनुः काष्ठा अरिष्टा सुरसा इला ।। ६-६-२५ ।।

sanskrit

O King Parīkṣit, now please hear from me the names of Kaśyapa’s wives, from whose wombs the population of the entire universe has come. They are the mothers of almost all the population of the entire universe, and their names are very auspicious to hear. They are Aditi, Diti, Danu, Kāṣṭhā, Ariṣṭā, Surasā, Ilā, ।। 6-6-25 ।।

english translation

हे राजा परीक्षित! अब मुझसे कश्यप की पत्नियों के नाम सुनो, जिनके गर्भ से इस समस्त ब्रह्माण्ड के प्राणी उत्पन्न हुए हैं। वे लगभग समस्त ब्रह्माण्ड के सचराचर की माताएँ हैं और उनके नामों को सुनना शुभ है। उनके नाम हैं—अदिति, दिति, दनु, काष्ठा, अरिष्टा, सुरसा, इला, ।। ६-६-२५ ।।
