अहो प्रजापतिपतिर्भगवान् हरिरव्ययः । वनस्पतीनोषधीश्च ससर्जोर्जमिषं विभुः ॥ ६-४-८ ॥

sanskrit

The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Hari, is the master of all living entities, including all the prajāpatis, such as Lord Brahmā. Because He is the all-pervading and indestructible master, He has created all these trees and vegetables as eatables for other living entities. ॥ 6-4-8 ॥

english translation

भगवान् श्री हरि सारे जीवों के स्वामी हैं जिनमें ब्रह्मा जैसे सारे प्रजापति सम्मिलित हैं। चूँकि वे सर्वव्यापक तथा अविनाशी प्रभु हैं, अत: उन्होंने अन्य जीवों के लिए खाद्य वस्तुओं के रूप में इन सारे वृक्षों तथा शाकों को उत्पन्न किया है। ॥ ६-४-८ ॥
