अथैनं मापनयत कृताशेषाघनिष्कृतम् । यदसौ भगवन्नाम म्रियमाणः समग्रहीत् ॥ ६-२-१३ ॥
At the time of death, this Ajāmila helplessly and very loudly chanted the holy name of the Lord, Nārāyaṇa. That chanting alone has already freed him from the reactions of all sinful life. Therefore, O servants of Yamarāja, do not try to take him to your master for punishment in hellish conditions. ॥ 6-2-13 ॥

इस अजामिल ने मृत्यु के समय असहाय होकर तथा अत्यन्त जोर-जोर से भगवान् नारायण के पवित्र नाम का उच्चारण किया है। एकमात्र उसी उच्चारण ने पूरे पापमय जीवन के फलों से उसे पहले ही मुक्त कर दिया है। इसलिए हे यमराज के सेवको! तुम उसे नारकीय दशाओं में दण्ड देने के लिए अपने स्वामी के पास ले जाने का प्रयास मत करो। । ६-२-१३ ॥
