दासीनां को नु सन्तापः स्वामिनः परिचर्यया । अभीक्ष्णं लब्धमानानां दास्या दासीव दुर्भगाः ।। ६-१४-४१ ।।

sanskrit

Even maidservants who are constantly engaged in rendering service to the husband are honored by the husband, and thus they have nothing for which to lament. Our position, however, is that we are maidservants of the maidservant. Therefore we are most unfortunate. ।। 6-14-41 ।।

english translation

यहाँ तक कि जो दासियाँ अपने पति की निरन्तर सेवा करती हैं, वे भी अपने पति का सम्मान पाती रहती हैं, अत: उनको किसी बात के लिए पश्चाताप नहीं करना पड़ता। किन्तु हमारी स्थिति तो दासी की दासियों के समान है, अत: हम सर्वाधिक हतभाग्या हैं। ।। ६-१४-४१ ।।
