ममर्द पद्भ्यां सुरसैन्यमातुरं निमीलिताक्षं रणरङ्गदुर्मदः । गां कम्पयन्नुद्यतशूल ओजसा नालं वनं यूथपतिर्यथोन्मदः ।। ६-११-८ ।।

sanskrit

As the demigods closed their eyes in fear, Vṛtrāsura, taking up his trident and making the earth tremble with his great strength, trampled the demigods beneath his feet on the battlefield the way a mad elephant tramples hollow bamboos in the forest. ।। 6-11-8 ।।

english translation

ज्योंही देवताओं ने डर के मारे अपनी आँखें बन्द कर लीं, वृत्रासुर ने अपना त्रिशूल उठा करके और अपने बल से पृथ्वी को दहलाते हुए युद्धभूमि में देवताओं को अपने पैरों के तले उसी प्रकार रौंद डाला जिस प्रकार पागल हाथी नरकट के वन को रौंद डालता है। ।। ६-११-८ ।।
