रुद्रं च स्वेन भागेन ह्युपाधावत्समाहितः । कर्मणोदवसानेन सोमपानितरानपि । उदवस्य सहर्त्विग्भिः सस्नाववभृथं ततः ॥ ४-७-५६ ॥

With all respect, Dakṣa worshiped Lord Śiva with his share of the remnants of the yajña. After finishing the ritualistic sacrificial activities, he satisfied all the other demigods and the other people assembled there. Then, after finishing all these duties with the priests, he took a bath and was fully satisfied. ॥ 4-7-56 ॥

दक्ष ने सभी प्रकार से सम्मान पूर्वक यज्ञ के शेष भाग के साथ शिव की पूजा की। याज्ञिक अनुष्ठानों की समाप्ति के पश्चात् उसने अन्य समस्त देवों तथा वहाँ पर एकत्र अन्य जनों को संतुष्ट किया। तब पुरोहितों के साथ-साथ इन सारे कर्तव्यों को सम्पन्न करके उसने स्नान किया और वह पूर्णतया संतुष्ट हुआ। ॥ ४-७-५६ ॥

तस्मा अप्यनुभावेन स्वेनैवावाप्तराधसे । धर्म एव मतिं दत्त्वा त्रिदशास्ते दिवं ययुः ॥ ४-७-५७ ॥

Thus worshiping the Supreme Lord Viṣṇu by the ritualistic performance of sacrifice, Dakṣa was completely situated on the religious path. Moreover, all the demigods who had assembled at the sacrifice blessed him that he might increase his piety, and then they left. ॥ 4-7-57 ॥

english translation

इस प्रकार यज्ञ के अनुष्ठान द्वारा विष्णु की पूजा करके दक्ष पूर्ण रूप से धार्मिक पथ पर स्थित हो गया। इसके साथ ही, यज्ञ में समागत समस्त देवताओं ने उसे आशीर्वाद दिया कि ‘धर्मनिष्ठ हो’ और तब वे चले गये। ‌।‌। ४-७-५७ ॥

एवं दाक्षायणी हित्वा सती पूर्वकलेवरम् । जज्ञे हिमवतः क्षेत्रे मेनायामिति शुश्रुम ॥ ४-७-५८ ॥

Maitreya said: I have heard that after giving up the body she had received from Dakṣa, Dākṣāyaṇī (his daughter) took her birth in the kingdom of the Himālayas. She was born as the daughter of Menā. I heard this from authoritative sources. ॥ 4-7-58 ॥

english translation

मैत्रेय ने कहा : मैंने सुना है कि दक्ष से प्राप्त शरीर को त्याग देने के पश्चात दाक्षायणी (दक्ष की पुत्री) ने हिमालय के राज्य में जन्म लिया। वह मेना की पुत्री के रूप में जन्मी। इसे मैंने प्रामाणिक स्रोतों से सुना है। ॥ ४-७-५८ ॥

तमेव दयितं भूय आवृङ्क्ते पतिमम्बिका । अनन्यभावैकगतिं शक्तिः सुप्तेव पूरुषम् ॥ ४-७-५९ ॥

Ambikā [goddess Durgā], who was known as Dākṣāyiṇī [Satī], again accepted Lord Śiva as her husband, just as different energies of the Supreme Personality of Godhead act during the course of a new creation. ॥ 4-7-59 ॥

english translation

अम्बिका (देवी दुर्गा) ने, जो दाक्षायणी (सती) कहलाती थीं, पुन: शिव को अपने पति के रूप में स्वीकार किया, जिस प्रकार कि भगवान् की विभिन्न शक्तियाँ नवीन सृष्टि के समय कार्य करती हैं। ॥ ४-७-५९ ॥

एतद्भगवतः शम्भोः कर्म दक्षाध्वरद्रुहः । श्रुतं भागवताच्छिष्यादुद्धवान्मे बृहस्पतेः ॥ ४-७-६० ॥

Maitreya said: My dear Vidura, I heard this story of the Dakṣa yajña, which was devastated by Lord Śiva, from Uddhava, a great devotee and a disciple of Bṛhaspati. ॥ 4-7-60 ॥

मैत्रेय ने कहा : हे विदुर, मैंने परम भक्त एवं बृहस्पति के शिष्य उद्धव से शिव द्वारा ध्वंस किये गये दक्ष-यज्ञ की यह कथा सुनी थी। ॥ ४-७-६० ॥
