सृती विचक्रमे विष्वङ् साशनानशने उभे । यदविद्या च विद्या च पुरुषस्तूभयाश्रयः ॥ २-६-२१ ॥
By His energies, the all-pervading Personality of Godhead is thus comprehensively the master in the activities of controlling and in devotional service. He is the ultimate master of both nescience and factual knowledge of all situations. ॥ 2-6-21 ॥

सर्व-व्यापी भगवान् अपनी शक्तियों के कारण व्यापक अर्थों में नियन्त्रण-कार्यों के तथा भक्तिमय सेवा के स्वामी हैं। वे समस्त परिस्थितियों में अविद्या तथा विद्या दोनों के परम स्वामी हैं। ॥ २-६-२१ ॥

यस्मादण्डं विराड्जज्ञे भूतेन्द्रियगुणात्मकः । तद्द्रव्यमत्यगाद्विश्वं गोभिः सूर्य इवातपन् ॥ २-६-२२ ॥
From that Personality of Godhead, all the universal globes and the universal form with all material elements, qualities and senses are generated. Yet He is aloof from such material manifestations, like the sun, which is separate from its rays and heat. ॥ 2-6-22 ॥

भगवान् से सारे ब्रह्माण्ड तथा समस्त भौतिक तत्त्वों, गुणों एवं इन्द्रियों से युक्त विराट रूप उत्पन्न होते हैं। फिर भी वे ऐसे भौतिक प्राकट्यों से उसी तरह पृथक् रहते हैं जिस तरह सूर्य अपनी किरणों तथा ताप से पृथक् रहता है। ॥ २-६-२२ ॥

यदास्य नाभ्यान्नलिनादहमासं महात्मनः । नाविदं यज्ञसम्भारान् पुरुषावयवादृते ॥ २-६-२३ ॥
When I was born from the abdominal lotus flower of the Lord [Mahā-Viṣṇu], the great person, I had no ingredients for sacrificial performances except the bodily limbs of the great Personality of Godhead. ॥ 2-6-23 ॥

जब मैं महापुरुष भगवान् (महा-विष्णु) के नाभि-कमल पुष्प से उत्पन्न हुआ था, तो मेरे पास यज्ञ-अनुष्ठानों के लिए उस महापुरुष के शारीरिक अंगों के अतिरिक्त अन्य कोई सामग्री न थी। ॥ २-६-२३ ॥

तेषु यज्ञस्य पशवः सवनस्पतयः कुशाः । इदं च देवयजनं कालश्चोरुगुणान्वितः ॥ २-६-२४ ॥
For performing sacrificial ceremonies, one requires sacrificial ingredients, such as flowers, leaves and straw, along with the sacrificial altar and a suitable time [spring]. ॥ 2-6-24 ॥

यज्ञोत्सवों को सम्पन्न करने के लिए फूल, पत्ती, कुश जैसी यज्ञ-सामग्रियों के साथ-साथ यज्ञ-वेदी तथा उपयुक्त समय (वसन्त) की भी आवश्यकता होती है। ॥ २-६-२४ ॥

वस्तून्योषधयः स्नेहा रसलोहमृदो जलम् । ऋचो यजूंषि सामानि चातुर्होत्रं च सत्तम ॥ २-६-२५ ॥
Other requirements are utensils, grains, clarified butter, honey, gold, earth, water, the Ṛg Veda, Yajur Veda and Sāma Veda and four priests to perform the sacrifice. ॥ 2-6-25 ॥

यज्ञ की अन्य आवश्यकताएँ हैं—पात्र, अन्न, घी, शहद, सोना, मिट्टी, जल, ऋग्वेद, यजुर्वेद, सामवेद तथा यज्ञ सम्पन्न करानेवाले चार पुरोहित। ॥ २-६-२५ ॥
