The merging of the living entity, along with his conditional living tendency, with the mystic lying down of the Mahā-Viṣṇu is called the winding up of the cosmic manifestation. Liberation is the permanent situation of the form of the living entity after he gives up the changeable gross and subtle material bodies. ।। 2-10-6 ।।

अपनी बद्धावस्था के जीवन-सम्बन्धी प्रवृत्ति के साथ जीवात्मा का शयन करते हुए महाविष्णु में लीन होना प्रकट ब्रह्माण्ड का परिसमापन कहलाता है। परिवर्तनशील स्थूल तथा सूक्ष्म शरीरों को त्याग कर जीवात्मा के रूप की स्थायी स्थिति ‘मुक्ति’ है। ।। २-१०-६ ।।
The supreme one who is celebrated as the Supreme Being or the Supreme Soul is the supreme source of the cosmic manifestation as well as its reservoir and winding up. Thus He is the Supreme Fountainhead, the Absolute Truth. ।। 2-10-7 ।।

परम पुरुष अथवा परमात्मा कहलाने वाले परमेश ही दृश्य जगत के परम स्रोत, इसके आगार (आश्रय) तथा लय हैं। इस प्रकार वे परम स्रोत, परम सत्य हैं। ।। २-१०-७ ।।
The individual person possessing different instruments of senses is called the adhyātmic person, and the individual controlling deity of the senses is called adhidaivic. The embodiment seen on the eyeballs is called the adhibhautic person. ।। 2-10-8 ।।

विभिन्न इन्द्रियों से युक्त व्यक्ति आध्यात्मिक पुरुष कहलाता है और इन इन्द्रियों को वश में रखने वाला देव (श्रीविग्रह) अधिदैविक कहलाता है। नेत्रगोलकों में दिखने वाला स्वरूप अधिभौतिक पुरुष कहलाता है। ।। २-१०-८ ।।
एकमेकतराभावे यदा नोपलभामहे । त्रितयं तत्र यो वेद स आत्मा स्वाश्रयाश्रयः ।। २-१०-९ ।।
All three of the above-mentioned stages of different living entities are interdependent. In the absence of one, another is not understood. But the Supreme Being who sees every one of them as the shelter of the shelter is independent of all, and therefore He is the supreme shelter. ।। 2-10-9 ।।

विभिन्न जीवात्माओं की उपर्युक्त तीनों अवस्थाएँ अन्योन्याश्रित हैं। किसी एक के अभाव में दूसरे को नहीं समझा जा सकता। किन्तु परमेश्वर इन सबको एक दूसरे के आश्रय रूप में देखता हुआ इन सबसे स्वतन्त्र है, अत: वह परम आश्रय है। ।। २-१०-९ ।।

ekamekatarAbhAve yadA nopalabhAmahe | tritayaM tatra yo veda sa AtmA svAzrayAzrayaH || 2-10-9 ||
After separating the different universes, the gigantic universal form of the Lord [Mahā-Viṣṇu], which came out of the Causal Ocean, the place of appearance for the first puruṣa-avatāra, entered into each of the separate universes, desiring to lie on the created transcendental water [Garbhodaka]. ।। 2-10-10 ।।

विभिन्न ब्रह्माण्डों को पृथक् करके विराट स्वरूप भगवान् (महाविष्णु), जो प्रथम पुरुष अवतार के प्रकट होने के स्थान कारणार्णव से बाहर आये थे, सृजित दिव्य जल (गर्भोदक) में शयन करने की इच्छा से उन विभिन्न ब्रह्माण्डों में प्रविष्ट हुए। ।। २-१०-१० ।।
