अनुवर्णितमेतत्ते मार्कण्डेयस्य धीमतः । अनुभूतं भगवतो मायावैभवमद्भुतम् ।। १२-१०-४० ।।

I have thus narrated to you the activities of the highly intelligent sage Mārkaṇḍeya, especially how he experienced the amazing power of the Supreme Lord’s illusory energy. ।। 12-10-40 ।।

english translation

इस प्रकार मैंने आपको अत्यधिक बुद्धिमान ऋषि मार्कण्डेय की गतिविधियों के बारे में बताया है, विशेष रूप से उन्होंने परम भगवान की मायावी ऊर्जा की अद्भुत शक्ति का अनुभव कैसे किया। ।। १२-१०-४० ।।
