शितविशिखहतो विशीर्णदंशःक्षतजपरिप्लुत आततायिनो मे । प्रसभमभिससार मद्वधार्थं स भवतु मे भगवान् गतिर्मुकुन्दः ॥ १-९-३८ ॥
May He, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Personality of Godhead, who awards salvation, be my ultimate destination. On the battlefield He charged me, as if angry because of the wounds dealt by my sharp arrows. His shield was scattered, and His body was smeared with blood due to the wounds. ॥ 1-9-38 ॥

भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण जो मोक्ष के दाता हैं, वे मेरे अनन्तिम गंतव्य हों। युद्ध-क्षेत्र में उन्होंने मेरे ऊपर आक्रमण किया, मानो वे मेरे पैने बाणों से बने घावों के कारण क्रुद्ध हो गये हों। उनका कवच छितरा गया था और उनका शरीर खून से सन गया था। ॥ १-९-३८ ॥
