यथा नभसि मेघौघो रेणुर्वा पार्थिवोऽनिले । एवं द्रष्टरि दृश्यत्वमारोपितमबुद्धिभिः ॥ १-३-३१ ॥
Clouds and dust are carried by the air, but less intelligent persons say that the sky is cloudy and the air is dirty. Similarly, they also implant material bodily conceptions on the spirit self. ॥ 1-3-31 ॥

बादल तथा धूल वायु द्वारा ले जाए जाते हैं, लेकिन अल्पज्ञ लोग कहते हैं कि आकाश मेघाच्छादित है और वायु धूलिमय (मलिन) है। इसी प्रकार वे लोग आत्मा के विषय में भी भौतिक शरीर की धारणाओं का आरोपण करते हैं। ॥ १-३-३१ ॥
