स चिन्तयन्नित्थमथाश‍ृणोद्यथा मुनेः सुतोक्तो निरृतिस्तक्षकाख्यः । स साधु मेने न चिरेण तक्षकानलं प्रसक्तस्य विरक्तिकारणम् ।। १-१९-४ ।।

sanskrit

While the King was thus repenting, he received news of his imminent death, which would be due to the bite of a snake-bird, occasioned by the curse spoken by the sage’s son. The King accepted this as good news, for it would be the cause of his indifference toward worldly things. ।। 1-19-4 ।।

english translation

जब राजा इस तरह पश्चात्ताप कर रहे थ,े तो उन्हें अपनी आसन्न मृत्यु का समाचार प्राप्त हुआ, जो मुनि पुत्र द्वारा दिये गये शाप के अनुसार सर्प-पक्षी के काटने से होनी थी। राजा ने इसे शुभ समाचार के रूप में ग्रहण किया, क्योंकि इससे उन्हें सांसारिकता के प्रति विराग उत्पन्न होगा। ।। १-१९-४ ।।
