दैवे प्रस्थत्रयं योग्यं स्वयंभोः प्रस्थपंचकम् । एवं पूर्णफलं विद्यादधिकं वै द्वयं त्रयम् ११ ।

sanskrit

In a divine temple three Prasthas of cooked rice shall be used. In the worship of self-risen image five prasthas of cooked rice shall be used. If thus used it gives complete benefit. By using twice or thrice this quantity the benefit shall be greater.

english translation

daive prasthatrayaM yogyaM svayaMbhoH prasthapaMcakam | evaM pUrNaphalaM vidyAdadhikaM vai dvayaM trayam 11 |

hk transliteration

सहस्रपूजया सत्यं सत्यलोकं लभेद्द्विजः । द्वादशांगुलमायामं द्विगुणं च ततोऽधिकम् १२ ।

sanskrit

By performing this worship a thousand times, a brahmin shall attain Satyaloka. A vessel made of wood or iron twelve aṅgulas in width, 24 aṅgulas in length and sixteen aṅgulas in height is called Śiva.

english translation

sahasrapUjayA satyaM satyalokaM labheddvijaH | dvAdazAMgulamAyAmaM dviguNaM ca tato'dhikam 12 |

hk transliteration

प्रमाणमंगुलस्यैकं तदूर्ध्वं पंचकत्रयम् । अयोदारुकृतं पात्रं शिवमित्युच्यते बुधैः १३ ।

sanskrit

The measurement of one finger's width (angulasyekaṃ), and above that, three times five (panchakatrayam) is considered as the measurement for a metal vessel made of iron or wood. This is called a Shiva vessel, according to the learned (buddhaiḥ).

english translation

pramANamaMgulasyaikaM tadUrdhvaM paMcakatrayam | ayodArukRtaM pAtraM zivamityucyate budhaiH 13 |

hk transliteration

तदष्टभागः प्रस्थः स्यात्तच्चतुःकुडवं मतम् । दशप्रस्थं शतप्रस्थं सहस्रप्रस्थमेव च १४ ।

sanskrit

The one-eighth portion (aṣṭabhāga) is considered a prastā. The quantities are determined as four (catuḥkudava), ten prastā (daśaprastha), one hundred prastā (śataprastha), and one thousand prastā (sahasraprastha).

english translation

tadaSTabhAgaH prasthaH syAttaccatuHkuDavaM matam | dazaprasthaM zataprasthaM sahasraprasthameva ca 14 |

hk transliteration

जलतैलादिगंधानां यथायोग्यं च मानतः । मानुषार्षस्वयंभूनां महापूजेति कथ्यते १५ ।

sanskrit

The offerings of water, oil, and fragrances should be made according to their respective worth (yathāyogya) and proper measure (māna). These are prescribed in the context of both human and divine worship, and are said to lead to the performance of great worship (Mahā-pūjā).

jalatailAdigaMdhAnAM yathAyogyaM ca mAnataH | mAnuSArSasvayaMbhUnAM mahApUjeti kathyate 15 |
