शास्तारं वह्निदिक्पत्रे मात्ःर्दक्षिणदिग्दले ॥ गजास्यं नैरृते पत्रे षण्मुखं वारुणे पुनः ॥ १७ ॥

sanskrit

The ruler is placed on a leaf in the direction of fire, and the mother is placed on a leaf in the southern direction. The face of an elephant is on the southwest leaf and the six faces are on the Varuna.

english translation

zAstAraM vahnidikpatre mAtHrdakSiNadigdale ॥ gajAsyaM nairRte patre SaNmukhaM vAruNe punaH ॥ 17 ॥
