Shiva Purana
गन्धमाल्यादि यच्चान्यत्तत्राप्येष समो विधिः ॥ न तु तत्र शिवोस्मीति बुद्धिं कुर्याद्विचक्षणः ॥ ६७ ॥
The same principle applies to any other offering, such as fragrant flowers and garlands. But a wise man should not think that he is Shiva there.

gandhamAlyAdi yaccAnyattatrApyeSa samo vidhiH ॥ na tu tatra zivosmIti buddhiM kuryAdvicakSaNaH ॥ 67 ॥
