Shiva Purana
शिवशास्त्रोक्तमार्गेण कृत्वा प्राणस्य निर्गमम् ॥ शिष्यदेहप्रवेशं च स्मृत्वा मंत्रांस्तु तर्पयेत् ॥ ४२ ॥
After performing the ritualistic ceremonies prescribed in the scriptures of Lord Śiva Remembering that the disciple has entered the body, one should chant mantras to satisfy him.

zivazAstroktamArgeNa kRtvA prANasya nirgamam ॥ ziSyadehapravezaM ca smRtvA maMtrAMstu tarpayet ॥ 42 ॥
