अथ भर्तृविहीनाया वक्ष्ये धर्मं सनातनम् ॥ व्रतं दानं तपः शौचं भूशय्यानक्तभोजनम् ॥ २१ ॥
Now I shall explain to you the eternal religious duties of a woman who is bereft of her husband. Vows charity austerities cleanliness lying on the ground and eating at night.

atha bhartRvihInAyA vakSye dharmaM sanAtanam ॥ vrataM dAnaM tapaH zaucaM bhUzayyAnaktabhojanam ॥ 21 ॥

brahmacaryaM sadA snAnaM bhasmanA salilena vA ॥ zAMtirmaunaM kSamA nityaM saMvibhAgo yathAvidhi ॥ 22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअष्टाभ्यां च चतुर्दश्यां पौर्णमास्यां विशेषतः ॥ एकादश्यां च विधिवदुपवासोममार्चनम् ॥ २३ ॥
On the eighth and fourteenth days of the month, especially on the full moon day, On the Ekadashi one should fast and worship the Soma according to the rituals.

aSTAbhyAM ca caturdazyAM paurNamAsyAM vizeSataH ॥ ekAdazyAM ca vidhivadupavAsomamArcanam ॥ 23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति संक्षेपतः प्रोक्तो मयाश्रमनिषेविणाम् ॥ ब्रह्मक्षत्रविशां देवि यतीनां ब्रह्मचारिणाम् ॥ २४ ॥
I have thus briefly described the Vedas to those who serve the āśrama. O Devi among the brahmins and kṣatriyas the ascetics and the celibates.

iti saMkSepataH prokto mayAzramaniSeviNAm ॥ brahmakSatravizAM devi yatInAM brahmacAriNAm ॥ 24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथैव वानप्रस्थानां गृहस्थानां च सुन्दरि ॥ शूद्राणामथ नारीणां धर्म एष सनातनः ॥ २५ ॥
O beautiful lady, the same is true of those who go to the forest and those who stay at home. This is the eternal duty of śūdras and women.

tathaiva vAnaprasthAnAM gRhasthAnAM ca sundari ॥ zUdrANAmatha nArINAM dharma eSa sanAtanaH ॥ 25 ॥
