उपमन्युरुवाच ॥ स्थाने पृष्टं त्वया कृष्ण तद्वक्ष्यामि यथातथम् ॥ भवभक्तस्य युक्तस्य तव कल्याणचेतसः ॥ ६ ॥
Upamanyu said:— You have very pertinently put the question O Kṛṣṇa. I shall explain it precisely to you of auspicious mind. You as the devotee of Śiva are the person fit to hear it.
english translation
upamanyuruvAca ॥ sthAne pRSTaM tvayA kRSNa tadvakSyAmi yathAtatham ॥ bhavabhaktasya yuktasya tava kalyANacetasaH ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमहीधरवरे दिव्ये मंदरे चारुकंदरे ॥ देव्या सह महादेवो दिव्यो ध्यानगतो ऽभवत् ॥ ७ ॥
Accompanied by the goddess, the lord went to his beautiful garden on the beautiful mountain Mandara abounding in beautiful caves.
english translation
mahIdharavare divye maMdare cArukaMdare ॥ devyA saha mahAdevo divyo dhyAnagato 'bhavat ॥ 7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतदा देव्याः प्रियसखी सुस्मितास्या शुभावती ॥ फुल्लान्यतिमनोज्ञानि पुष्पाणि समुदाहरत् ॥ ८ ॥
Then Śubhāvatī, the beloved friend of the goddess with a smiling face, brought many full-blown flowers of great beauty.
english translation
tadA devyAH priyasakhI susmitAsyA zubhAvatI ॥ phullAnyatimanojJAni puSpANi samudAharat ॥ 8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः स्वमंकमारोप्य देवीं देववरोरहः ॥ अलंकृत्य च तैः पुष्पैरास्ते हृष्टतरः स्वयम् ॥ ९ ॥
Thereupon Śiva, the chief of the gods, seated the goddess on his lap and bedecked her with the flowers. He was much pleased with himself.
english translation
tataH svamaMkamAropya devIM devavarorahaH ॥ alaMkRtya ca taiH puSpairAste hRSTataraH svayam ॥ 9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथांतःपुरचारिण्यो देव्यो दिव्यविभूषणाः ॥ अंतरंगा गणेन्द्राश्च सर्वलोकमहेश्वरीम् ॥ १० ॥
Then the goddesses, adorned with divine ornaments, wandered about in the inner palaces. The innermost Gandharvas worshiped the great goddess of all the worlds.

athAMtaHpuracAriNyo devyo divyavibhUSaNAH ॥ aMtaraMgA gaNendrAzca sarvalokamahezvarIm ॥ 10 ॥
