प्राप्तं च परमं ज्ञानमिति प्रागेव शुश्रुम ॥ कथं स लब्धवान् कृष्णो ज्ञानं पाशुपतं परम् ॥ ११ ॥
We have already heard that you have attained the supreme knowledge. How did Krishna attain the supreme knowledge of Pashupata.
english translation
prAptaM ca paramaM jJAnamiti prAgeva zuzruma ॥ kathaM sa labdhavAn kRSNo jJAnaM pAzupataM param ॥ 11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवायुरुवाच ॥ स्वेच्छया ह्यवतीर्णोपि वासुदेवस्सनातनः ॥ निंदयन्निव मानुष्यं देहशुद्धिं चकार सः ॥ १२ ॥
Vāyu said:— Vāsudeva, the eternal god, had taken his incarnation out of his own free will. Still he performed the purificatory rites for his body thereby indicating that the human body is worthy of censure.
english translation
vAyuruvAca ॥ svecchayA hyavatIrNopi vAsudevassanAtanaH ॥ niMdayanniva mAnuSyaM dehazuddhiM cakAra saH ॥ 12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुत्रार्थं हि तपस्तप्तुं गतस्तस्य महामुनेः ॥ आश्रमं मुनिभिर्दृष्टं दृष्टवांस्तत्र वै मुनिम् ॥ १३ ॥
He went to the great sage’s hermitage resorted to by other sages, in order to perform a penance for the sake of sons. There he saw the sage Upamanyu.
english translation
putrArthaM hi tapastaptuM gatastasya mahAmuneH ॥ AzramaM munibhirdRSTaM dRSTavAMstatra vai munim ॥ 13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभस्मावदातसर्वांगं त्रिपुंड्रांकितमस्तकम् ॥ रुद्राक्षमालाभरणं जटामंडलमंडितम् ॥ १४ ॥
His whole body was burnt to ashes and his head was decorated with three lotuses. He was adorned with a garland of Rudraksha and adorned with matted hair.

bhasmAvadAtasarvAMgaM tripuMDrAMkitamastakam ॥ rudrAkSamAlAbharaNaM jaTAmaMDalamaMDitam ॥ 14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतच्छिष्यभूतैर्मुनिभिश्शास्त्रैर्वेदमिवावृतम् ॥ शिवध्यानरतं शांतमुपमन्युं महाद्युतिम् ॥ १५ ॥
The sages who became his disciples enveloped him in the scriptures just as the Vedas enveloped him He was calm and effulgent and engaged in the meditation of Lord Siva.

tacchiSyabhUtairmunibhizzAstrairvedamivAvRtam ॥ zivadhyAnarataM zAMtamupamanyuM mahAdyutim ॥ 15 ॥
