श्रुत्वा तेषां तदा वाक्यं भगवान्पुरुषोत्तमः ॥ किमिदन्त्विति संचिन्त्य ज्ञात्वा तत्कारणं च सः ॥ २ ॥

sanskrit

At that time Lord Śiva, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, heard the words of the demigods. He thought about what they were and knew the reason for it.

english translation

zrutvA teSAM tadA vAkyaM bhagavAnpuruSottamaH ॥ kimidantviti saMcintya jJAtvA tatkAraNaM ca saH ॥ 2 ॥
