अष्टाङ्गमर्घ्यमुत्कृष्टं धूपालेपौ विशेषतः ॥ चन्दनं वामदेवाख्ये हरितालं च पौरुषे ॥ ४१ ॥

The eightfold offering of arghya is excellent, especially incense and ointment. sandalwood in the left hand and green palm in the right hand.

aSTAGgamarghyamutkRSTaM dhUpAlepau vizeSataH ॥ candanaM vAmadevAkhye haritAlaM ca pauruSe ॥ 41 ॥

ईशाने भसितं केचिदालेपनमितीदृशाम् ॥ न धूपमिति मन्यन्ते धूपान्तरविधानतः ॥ सितागुरुमघोराख्ये मुखे कृष्णागुरुं पुनः ॥ ४२ ॥

Some of these are burnt in the north-east, and some of them are called ointments. They do not consider it to be incense because of the different types of incense. White aguru in the mouth called Aghora and black aguru in the mouth.

IzAne bhasitaM kecidAlepanamitIdRzAm ॥ na dhUpamiti manyante dhUpAntaravidhAnataH ॥ sitAgurumaghorAkhye mukhe kRSNAguruM punaH ॥ 42 ॥

पौरुषे गुग्गुलं सव्ये सौम्ये सौगंधिकं मुखे ॥ ईशाने ऽपि ह्युशीरादि देयाद्धूपं विशेषतः ॥ ४३ ॥

In the masculine, guggulu is in the left, and in the gentle, fragrant in the mouth. Incense, especially incense such as hyushira, should be offered in the north-east.

pauruSe guggulaM savye saumye saugaMdhikaM mukhe ॥ IzAne 'pi hyuzIrAdi deyAddhUpaM vizeSataH ॥ 43 ॥

शर्करामधुकर्पूरकपिलाघृतसंयुतम् ॥ चंदनागुरुकाष्ठाद्यं सामान्यं संप्रचक्षते ॥ ४४ ॥

Sandal, Aguru, etc., along with sugar candy, honey, camphor and the ghee of a tawny-coloured cow can be offered to all.

zarkarAmadhukarpUrakapilAghRtasaMyutam ॥ caMdanAgurukASThAdyaM sAmAnyaM saMpracakSate ॥ 44 ॥

कर्पूरवर्तिराज्याढ्या देया दीपावलिस्ततः ॥ अर्घ्यमाचमनं देयं प्रतिवक्त्रमतः परम् ॥ ४५ ॥

Thereafter series of lights with camphor and wick soaked in ghee shall be offered. Arghya and Ācamana shall be offered to every face.
