साक्षाद्रुद्रतनुर्वीरो वरवीरगणावृतः ॥ अट्टहासेन घोरेण व्यष्टं भयदनिंदितः ॥ ४१ ॥
He was a hero in the form of Lord Śiva and was surrounded by hosts of excellent heroes. He was irreproachably overwhelmed with fear with a terrible loud laugh.
english translation
sAkSAdrudratanurvIro varavIragaNAvRtaH ॥ aTTahAsena ghoreNa vyaSTaM bhayadaniMditaH ॥ 41 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथा शतमखस्यापि सवज्रो दक्षिणः करः ॥ सिसृक्षोरेव उद्वज्रश्चित्रीकृत इवाभवत् ॥ ४२ ॥
The right hand of Indra who desired to release the thunderbolt it held remained steady as painted in a picture.

tathA zatamakhasyApi savajro dakSiNaH karaH ॥ sisRkSoreva udvajrazcitrIkRta ivAbhavat ॥ 42 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअन्येषामपि सर्वेषां सरक्ता अपि बाहवः ॥ अलसानामिवारंभास्तादृशाः प्रतियांत्युत ॥ ४३ ॥
The hands of others too became fixed, as the activities of idle men at the start remain unprogressive.

anyeSAmapi sarveSAM saraktA api bAhavaH ॥ alasAnAmivAraMbhAstAdRzAH pratiyAMtyuta ॥ 43 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं भगवता तेन व्याहताशेषवैभवात् ॥ अमराः समरे तस्य पुरतः स्थातुमक्षमाः ॥ ४४ ॥
Thus the gods with their efficacy thwarted in the battle were rendered incapable of standing in front of him.

evaM bhagavatA tena vyAhatAzeSavaibhavAt ॥ amarAH samare tasya purataH sthAtumakSamAH ॥ 44 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्तब्धैरवयवैरेव दुद्रुवुर्भयविह्वलाः ॥ स्थितिं च चक्रिरे युद्धे वीरतेजोभयाकुलाः ॥ ४५ ॥
Frightened by the splendour of Vīrabhadra they could not stay further in the battle. In that fierce battle they fled even with their benumbed limbs.

stabdhairavayavaireva dudruvurbhayavihvalAH ॥ sthitiM ca cakrire yuddhe vIratejobhayAkulAH ॥ 45 ॥
