Shiva Purana
ऋतवः पितरस्तस्मादित्येषा वैदिकी श्रुतिः ॥ युष्मादृतुषु सर्वे हि जायंते स्थास्नुजंगमा ॥ ४५ ॥
The Vedic scriptures say that the seasons are the source of the forefathers. All living beings, moving and nonmoving, are born from you in the seasons.
english translation
RtavaH pitarastasmAdityeSA vaidikI zrutiH ॥ yuSmAdRtuSu sarve hi jAyaMte sthAsnujaMgamA ॥ 45 ॥
