वेगेन विष्वग् भ्रमता प्रक्षिप्ता गुरवोऽद्रयः ॥ आकाशतो महीमध्ये निपेतुर्नृपसत्तम ॥ ४६ ॥
O excellent king, heavy mountains hurled by him as he rushed all round fell in the battle-ground from the sky.
english translation
vegena viSvag bhramatA prakSiptA guravo'drayaH ॥ AkAzato mahImadhye nipeturnRpasattama ॥ 46 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशृंगभिन्नाः पयोवाहाः खण्डं खण्डमयासिषुः ॥ लांगूलेनाहतश्चाब्धिर्विष्वगुद्वेलमस्पदत् ॥ ४७ ॥
Clouds split by his horns were shattered to pieces. The ocean struck at with his tail throbbed and splashed water beyond the shores all round.

zRMgabhinnAH payovAhAH khaNDaM khaNDamayAsiSuH ॥ lAMgUlenAhatazcAbdhirviSvagudvelamaspadat ॥ 47 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं क्रुद्धं समालोक्य महिषासुरमम्बिका ॥ विदधे तद्वधोपायं देवानामभयंकरी ॥ ४८ ॥
On seeing the demon Mahiṣa thus infuriated, Ambikā, the protectress of the gods, became ready to kill him.
english translation
evaM kruddhaM samAlokya mahiSAsuramambikA ॥ vidadhe tadvadhopAyaM devAnAmabhayaMkarI ॥ 48 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः पाशं समुत्थाय क्षिप्त्वा तस्योपरी श्वरी ॥ बबन्ध महिषं सोऽपि रूपन्तत्याज माहिषम् ॥ ४९ ॥
She took up a noose and hurled it at him. She bound the Asura Mahiṣa. Then the demon abandoned his assumed guise.

tataH pAzaM samutthAya kSiptvA tasyoparI zvarI ॥ babandha mahiSaM so'pi rUpantatyAja mAhiSam ॥ 49 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः सिंहो बभूवाशु मायावी तच्छिरोम्बिका ॥ यावद्भिनत्ति तावत्स खङ्गपाणिर्बभूव ह ॥ ५०॥
Wielding Māyā, he became a lion. Soon as Ambikā tried to cut off his head he became armed with a sword.

tataH siMho babhUvAzu mAyAvI tacchirombikA ॥ yAvadbhinatti tAvatsa khaGgapANirbabhUva ha ॥ 50॥
