यस्तां जहाति वा स्वस्थस्तामिस्रे स तु मज्जति ॥ तस्माद्दत्त्वा बलिं तेभ्यो द्वारस्थश्चिंतयेत्क्षणम् ॥ ४६॥
Whoever abandons her or is healthy sinks into darkness Therefore one who is at the gate should offer oblations to them and meditate for a moment.
english translation
yastAM jahAti vA svasthastAmisre sa tu majjati ॥ tasmAddattvA baliM tebhyo dvArasthazciMtayetkSaNam ॥ 46॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptक्षुधार्तमतिथिं सम्यगेकग्रामनिवासिनम् ॥ भोजयेत्तं शुभान्नेन यथाशक्त्यात्मभोजनात् ॥ ४७॥
One shall feed the hungry guest staying in the same village with auspicious food, in accordance with his ability and with the same dishes as he partakes of himself.
english translation
kSudhArtamatithiM samyagekagrAmanivAsinam ॥ bhojayettaM zubhAnnena yathAzaktyAtmabhojanAt ॥ 47॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअतिथिर्यस्य भग्नाशो गृहात्प्रतिनिवर्तते ॥ स तस्मै दुष्कृतं दत्त्वा पुण्यमा दाय गच्छति ॥ ४८॥
If a guest turns back from a house disappointed he takes away all the merits of the householder and leaves his own sins behind.
english translation
atithiryasya bhagnAzo gRhAtpratinivartate ॥ sa tasmai duSkRtaM dattvA puNyamA dAya gacchati ॥ 48॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततोऽन्नं प्रियमेवाश्नन्नरः शृंखलवान्पुनः ॥ जिह्वावेगेन विद्धोत्र चिरं कालं स तिष्ठति ॥ ४९॥
A man eating delicious food by himself stays in the hell for a long time fettered in the body and pierced in the tongue with force.
english translation
tato'nnaM priyamevAznannaraH zRMkhalavAnpunaH ॥ jihvAvegena viddhotra ciraM kAlaM sa tiSThati ॥ 49॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयतस्तं मांसमुद्धत्य तिलमात्रप्रमाणतः ॥ खादितुं दीयते तेषां भित्त्वा चैव तु शोणितम् ॥ ५० ॥
Because he lifted the meat up to the size of a sesame seed They are given to eat and their blood is broken.
english translation
yatastaM mAMsamuddhatya tilamAtrapramANataH ॥ khAdituM dIyate teSAM bhittvA caiva tu zoNitam ॥ 50 ॥
