वरं दत्त्वा शिवं चाथ तादृशं प्रीतितो हृदा ॥ अन्तर्धाय पुनस्तत्र सुननर्त्त स भिक्षुकः ॥३६॥
And He had granted her the auspicious boon with pleasure and vanished. The mendicant now continued the dance.
english translation
varaM dattvA zivaM cAtha tAdRzaM prItito hRdA ॥ antardhAya punastatra sunanartta sa bhikSukaH ॥36॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो मेना सुरत्नानि स्वर्णपात्रस्थितानि च ॥ तस्मै दातुं ययौ प्रीत्या तद्भूति प्रीतमानसः ॥ ३७ ॥
Menā who was greatly delighted took gems and jewels in gold vessels in order to give them to Him.
english translation
tato menA suratnAni svarNapAtrasthitAni ca ॥ tasmai dAtuM yayau prItyA tadbhUti prItamAnasaH ॥ 37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतानि न स्वीचकारासौ भिक्षां याचे शिवां च ताम् ॥ पुनस्सुनृत्यं गानश्च कौतुकात्कर्तुमुद्यतः ॥ ३८ ॥
But the dancer did not accept the gifts. He requested for the hand of Pārvatī and began to dance and sing again.

tAni na svIcakArAsau bhikSAM yAce zivAM ca tAm ॥ punassunRtyaM gAnazca kautukAtkartumudyataH ॥ 38 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमेना तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा चुकोपाति सुविस्मिता ॥ भिक्षुकं भर्त्सयामास बहिष्कर्तुमियेष सा ॥ ३९ ॥
Menā was surprised on hearing his words and she was furious. She rebuked the mendicant and wished to drive him out.
english translation
menA tadvacanaM zrutvA cukopAti suvismitA ॥ bhikSukaM bhartsayAmAsa bahiSkartumiyeSa sA ॥ 39 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएतस्मिन्नन्तरे तत्र गंगातो गिरिराययौ ॥ ददर्श पुरतो भिक्षुं प्रांगणस्थं नराकृतिम् ॥ 2-3-30-४० ॥
In the meantime the lord of mountains returned from the Gaṅgā. He saw the mendicant in the human form in his court-yard.

etasminnantare tatra gaMgAto girirAyayau ॥ dadarza purato bhikSuM prAMgaNasthaM narAkRtim ॥ 2-3-30-40 ॥
