तस्माच्च पर्वतश्रेष्ठ देह्याज्ञां भवताधुना ॥ तपः करोतु गिरिजा वनं गत्वेति सादरम् ॥६॥
O excellent mountain, the permission may kindly be given—“Let Pārvatī go to the forest and perform penance there”.
english translation
tasmAcca parvatazreSTha dehyAjJAM bhavatAdhunA ॥ tapaH karotu girijA vanaM gatveti sAdaram ॥6॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्येवं च तदा पृष्टस्सखीभ्यां मुनिसत्तम ॥ पार्वत्या सुविचार्याथ गिरिराजोऽब्रवीदिदम् ॥ ७ ॥
Brahmā said: O excellent sage, thus requested by Pārvatī through the maids, the lord of the mountains carefully considered the proposal and said:

brahmovAca ॥ ityevaM ca tadA pRSTassakhIbhyAM munisattama ॥ pArvatyA suvicAryAtha girirAjo'bravIdidam ॥ 7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहिमालय उवाच ॥ मह्यं च रोचतेऽत्यर्थं मेनायै रुच्यतां पुनः ॥ यथेदं भवितव्यं च किमतः परमुत्तमम् ॥ ८ ॥
Himācala said: This appeals to me. I it appeals to Menā as it ought to be, what else can be a better course?
english translation
himAlaya uvAca ॥ mahyaM ca rocate'tyarthaM menAyai rucyatAM punaH ॥ yathedaM bhavitavyaM ca kimataH paramuttamam ॥ 8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसाफल्यं तु मदीयस्य कुलस्य च न संशयः ॥ मात्रे तु रुच्यते चेद्वै ततः शुभतरं नु किम्॥९॥
There is no doubt about it that my House will be fortunate. If her mother also likes this, what can be more auspicious than this?
english translation
sAphalyaM tu madIyasya kulasya ca na saMzayaH ॥ mAtre tu rucyate cedvai tataH zubhataraM nu kim॥9॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्येवं वचनं पित्रा प्रोक्तं श्रुत्वा तु ते तदा ॥ जग्मतुर्मातरं सख्यौ तदाज्ञप्ते तया सह ॥ 2-3-22-१० ॥
Brahmā said: After hearing the words spoken by her father and (in a way) commanded by him, the two maids went to her mother along with her.

brahmovAca ॥ ityevaM vacanaM pitrA proktaM zrutvA tu te tadA ॥ jagmaturmAtaraM sakhyau tadAjJapte tayA saha ॥ 2-3-22-10 ॥
