तनूनपादपि निजं चक्रे रूपं सहस्रशः ॥ हविषा ग्रहणायाशु तस्मिन् यज्ञे महोत्सवे ॥ १६ ॥
The sacrificial fire evinced its diverse forms in a thousand ways, during the sacrificial festivities, in order to receive the sacrificial offerings of Dakṣa.

अष्टाशीतिसहस्राणि जुह्वति सह ऋत्विजः ॥ उद्गातारश्चतुषष्टि सहस्राणि सुरर्षयः ॥१७॥
There were eighty-six thousand Ṛtviks[4] in the performance of the sacrifice and sixty-four thousand Udgātṛs.

अध्वर्यवोथ होतारस्तावन्तो नारदादयः ॥ सप्तर्षयस्समा गाथाः कुर्वंति स्म पृथक्पृथक् ॥ १८॥
The celestial sages Nārada and others acted as Adhvaryus and Hotṛs. They too were as many. The seven sages[5] (jointly and) severally repeated the Sāman hymns.

गंधर्वविद्याधरसिद्धसंघानादित्यसंघान् सगणान् सयज्ञान् ॥ संख्यावरान्नागचरान् समस्तान् वव्रे स दक्षो हि महाध्वरे स्वे ॥ १९ ॥
In his great sacrifice Dakṣa extended his invitation to Gandharvas, Vidyādharas, Siddhas, Ādityas, all the innumerable Nāgas along with their followers and sacrificial ritualists.

द्विजर्षिराजर्षिसुरर्षिसंघा नृपास्समित्राः सचिवास्स सैन्याः ॥ वसुप्रमुख्या गणदेवताश्च सर्वे वृतास्तेन मखोपवेत्त्राः ॥ 2-2-27-२० ॥
Brahminical, Royal and celestial sages, kings, with their friends, ministers, armies etc, Vasus[6] and other chief Gaṇadevatas—all of them were invited by him in the sacrifice.
