तैस्तैः प्रहारैरपि जर्ज रांगस्तस्मिन् रणे देवगणेरितैर्यः ।। जगाद वाक्यं तु सगर्वमुग्रं प्रविश्य शंभुं प्रणिपत्य मूर्ध्ना ।। ४६ ।।

sanskrit

He was one whose limbs were shattered by the weapons hurled by the gods and the Gaṇas. He entered the cavern, bowed to Śiva and spoke these words haughtily.

english translation

taistaiH prahArairapi jarja rAMgastasmin raNe devagaNeritairyaH || jagAda vAkyaM tu sagarvamugraM pravizya zaMbhuM praNipatya mUrdhnA || 46 ||

दूत उवाच ।। संप्रेषितोहं विविशे गुहांतु ह्यषौऽन्धकस्त्वां समुवाच वाक्यम् ।। नार्या न कार्यं तव किंचिदस्तिविमुच नारीं तरुणीं सुरूपाम् ।। ४७ ।।

The messenger said: I have been sent by him and so I have entered this cavern. You have nothing to do with a woman. Surrender this young and beautiful lady.

अतीव?? दैत्येषु महाविरोधी युध्यस्व वेगेन मया प्रमथ्य ।। नयामि पातालतलानुरूपं यमक्षयं तापस धूर्त हि त्वाम् ।।४९।।

You are extremely inimical to the Daityas. Show your might in fighting with me. O wicked ascetic, I shall send you to Yama’s abode befitting the nether worlds.

Sanatkumāra said: On hearing these words conveyed by the emissary, the great three-eyed lord, the goal of the good, the destroyer of the pride of the wicked, the wearer of skull-garlands spoke furiously burning with grief.

sanatkumAra uvAca || etadvaco dUtamukhAnnizamya kapAlamAlI tamuvAca kopAt || jvalanviSAdena mahAMstrinetrassatAM gatirduSTamadaprahartA ||2.5.45.50||
