त्वं चास्य कर्तास्ययथानुरूपं त्वया ससख्या दयया गणेभ्यः ॥ स रक्षितव्यस्त्वयि तं हि वैकं विचार्य बुद्ध्या करणीयमार्ये ॥ २६ ॥
You are the cause of his creation though not in the natural way. He shall be guarded by the Gaṇas lovingly as well as by you along with your friends. His well being rests with you. O noble lady, pondering over this intelligently you shall do every thing.

सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ गौरी ततो भर्तृवचो निशम्य कारुण्यभावात्सहिता सखीभिः ॥ नानाप्रकारैर्बहुभिर्ह्युपायैश्चकार रक्षां स्वसुतस्य यद्वत् ॥२७॥
Sanatkumāra said: On hearing the words of her lord, Pārvatī was very compassionate. Accompanied by her friends, she made arrangements for his safety in diverse ways and means as if he were her own son.

कालेऽथ तस्मिञ्शिशिरे प्रयातो हिरण्यनेत्रस्त्वथ पुत्रकामः॥ स्वज्येष्ठबंधोस्तनयप्रतानं संवीक्ष्य चासीत्प्रियया नियुक्तः॥२८॥
At that time, the Asura Hiraṇyākṣa desired to obtain a son at the pressure of his wife who was envious at the sight of many sons of her husband’s elder brother.Accordingly he set out in the season of late winter.

अरण्यमाश्रित्य तपश्चकारासुरस्तदा कश्यपजस्सुतार्थम् ॥ काष्ठोपमोऽसौ जितरोषदोषस्संदर्शनार्थं तु महेश्वरस्य ॥ २९ ॥
He resorted to forest and performed penance for obtaining son. In order to see lord Śiva he performed a rigorous penance conquering the passions of anger etc. and remaining insensible to external sensation as does a log of wood.

तुष्टः पिनाकी तपसास्य सम्यग्वरप्रदानाय ययौ द्विजेन्द्र ॥ तत्स्थानमासाद्य वृषध्वजोऽसौ जगाद दैत्यप्रवरं महेशः ॥ 2-5-42-३० ॥
The trident-bearing lord was pleased at his penance. O great brahmin he went there in order to grant him the boon. After reaching that spot, lord Śiva, the bull-bannered lord, spoke to the leading Daitya.
