सूत उवाच ॥ इत्युक्त्वा तु नमश्चक्रे ब्रह्मणे स हि राक्षसः ॥ ब्रह्मा चापि तदा तस्मै वरं दत्त्वा गृहं ययौ॥ ३१॥
Sūta said:— After saying this, the Rākṣasa made obeisance to Brahmā. After granting him the boon, Brahmā returned to his abode.
english translation
राक्षसो गृहमागत्य ब्रह्माप्तातिबलस्तदा ॥ मातरं प्रणिपत्याशु स भीमः प्राह गर्ववान्॥ ३२॥
The Rākṣasa Bhīma who acquired great strength from Brahmā returned to his house puffed up with pride. After bowing to his mother he said.
english translation
भीम उवाच ॥ पश्य मातर्बलं मेऽद्य करोमि प्रलयं महत् ॥ देवानां शक्रमुख्यानां हरेर्वै तत्सहायिनः ॥ ३३ ॥
Brahmā said:— O mother, observe my strength. I shall work up a havoc among the gods including their chief Indra and also Viṣṇu who goes to help them.
english translation
॥ सूत उवाच ॥ इत्युक्त्वा प्रथमं भीमो जिग्ये देवान्सवासवान् ॥ स्थानान्निस्सारयामास स्वात्स्वात्तान्भीमविक्रमः ॥ ३४ ॥
After saying this, Bhīma of terrible exploit conquered the gods including Indra at the outset and ousted them from their respective positions.
english translation
ततो जिग्ये हरिं युद्धे प्रार्थितं निर्जरैरपि ॥ ततो जेतुं रसां दैत्यः प्रारंभं कृतवान्मुदा ॥ ३५ ॥
Then in a battle he conquered Viṣṇu respected even by the gods. Then joyously the Rākṣasa began to conquer the earth.
