Regulated by the priests, the divine royal Soma, agreeable, intelligent, abiding in the firmament.

इन्द्रा॑य पवते॒ मद॒: सोमो॑ म॒रुत्व॑ते सु॒तः । स॒हस्र॑धारो॒ अत्यव्य॑मर्षति॒ तमी॑ मृजन्त्या॒यव॑: ॥ इन्द्राय पवते मदः सोमो मरुत्वते सुतः । सहस्रधारो अत्यव्यमर्षति तमी मृजन्त्यायवः ॥
Exhilarating, flows, when effused, for Indra attended by the Maruts; thousand-streamed he passes through the fleece; men cleanse him.

पु॒ना॒नश्च॒मू ज॒नय॑न्म॒तिं क॒विः सोमो॑ दे॒वेषु॑ रण्यति । अ॒पो वसा॑न॒: परि॒ गोभि॒रुत्त॑र॒: सीद॒न्वने॑ष्वव्यत ॥ पुनानश्चमू जनयन्मतिं कविः सोमो देवेषु रण्यति । अपो वसानः परि गोभिरुत्तरः सीदन्वनेष्वव्यत ॥
Purified in the cups, exciting laudation, the sage Soma rejoices among the gods; clothed with the waters sitting in the wooden bowls, he is surrounded with the curds and milk.

तवा॒हं सो॑म रारण स॒ख्य इ॑न्दो दि॒वेदि॑वे । पु॒रूणि॑ बभ्रो॒ नि च॑रन्ति॒ मामव॑ परि॒धीँरति॒ ताँ इ॑हि ॥ तवाहं सोम रारण सख्य इन्दो दिवेदिवे । पुरूणि बभ्रो नि चरन्ति मामव परिधीँरति ताँ इहि ॥
In your friendship, Indu Soma, I have rejoiced day by day; many (rākṣasas) assail me, tawny-coloured (Soma); overcome these who surround me.

उ॒ताहं नक्त॑मु॒त सो॑म ते॒ दिवा॑ स॒ख्याय॑ बभ्र॒ ऊध॑नि । घृ॒णा तप॑न्त॒मति॒ सूर्यं॑ प॒रः श॑कु॒ना इ॑व पप्तिम ॥ उताहं नक्तमुत सोम ते दिवा सख्याय बभ्र ऊधनि । घृणा तपन्तमति सूर्यं परः शकुना इव पप्तिम ॥
I (delight) in your presence, tawny-coloured Soma, both day and night, for the sake of your friendship may we soar like birds far beyond the sun blazing with your light.
