क॒न्या॒३॒॑ वार॑वाय॒ती सोम॒मपि॑ स्रु॒तावि॑दत् । अस्तं॒ भर॑न्त्यब्रवी॒दिन्द्रा॑य सुनवै त्वा श॒क्राय॑ सुनवै त्वा ॥ कन्या वारवायती सोममपि स्रुताविदत् । अस्तं भरन्त्यब्रवीदिन्द्राय सुनवै त्वा शक्राय सुनवै त्वा ॥
A young woman going to the water found Soma in the path; as she carried it home she said, I will press you for Indra, I will you for Śakra.
english translation
अ॒सौ य एषि॑ वीर॒को गृ॒हंगृ॑हं वि॒चाक॑शद् । इ॒मं जम्भ॑सुतं पिब धा॒नाव॑न्तं कर॒म्भिण॑मपू॒पव॑न्तमु॒क्थिन॑म् ॥ असौ य एषि वीरको गृहंगृहं विचाकशद् । इमं जम्भसुतं पिब धानावन्तं करम्भिणमपूपवन्तमुक्थिनम् ॥
You who go from house to house a hero bright in your splendour, drink this Soma pressed by my teethtogether with fried grains of barley, the karambha, cakes and hymns.
english translation
आ च॒न त्वा॑ चिकित्सा॒मोऽधि॑ च॒न त्वा॒ नेम॑सि । शनै॑रिव शन॒कैरि॒वेन्द्रा॑येन्दो॒ परि॑ स्रव ॥ आ चन त्वा चिकित्सामोऽधि चन त्वा नेमसि । शनैरिव शनकैरिवेन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव ॥
We wish to know you, but here we know you not, O Soma, flow forth for Indra first slowly, then quickly.
english translation
कु॒विच्छक॑त्कु॒वित्कर॑त्कु॒विन्नो॒ वस्य॑स॒स्कर॑त् । कु॒वित्प॑ति॒द्विषो॑ य॒तीरिन्द्रे॑ण सं॒गमा॑महै ॥ कुविच्छकत्कुवित्करत्कुविन्नो वस्यसस्करत् । कुवित्पतिद्विषो यतीरिन्द्रेण संगमामहै ॥
May (Indra) repeatedly make us powerful, may he do abundantly for us, may he repeatedly make usvery rich; often hated by our husband and forced to leave hi, may we be united to Indra.
english translation
इ॒मानि॒ त्रीणि॑ वि॒ष्टपा॒ तानी॑न्द्र॒ वि रो॑हय । शिर॑स्त॒तस्यो॒र्वरा॒मादि॒दं म॒ उपो॒दरे॑ ॥ इमानि त्रीणि विष्टपा तानीन्द्र वि रोहय । शिरस्ततस्योर्वरामादिदं म उपोदरे ॥
These hree plural ces-- do you cause them all to grow-- my father's (bald) head, his (barren) field, and my body.
