न पा॒पासो॑ मनामहे॒ नारा॑यासो॒ न जळ्ह॑वः । यदिन्न्विन्द्रं॒ वृष॑णं॒ सचा॑ सु॒ते सखा॑यं कृ॒णवा॑महै ॥ न पापासो मनामहे नारायासो न जळ्हवः । यदिन्न्विन्द्रं वृषणं सचा सुते सखायं कृणवामहै ॥
We are not evil who worship him, nor too poor to offer gifts, nor destitute of sacred fires-- sinceassembled together, when the Soma is effused, we make Indra, the showerer, our friend.
english translation
उ॒ग्रं यु॑युज्म॒ पृत॑नासु सास॒हिमृ॒णका॑ति॒मदा॑भ्यम् । वेदा॑ भृ॒मं चि॒त्सनि॑ता र॒थीत॑मो वा॒जिनं॒ यमिदू॒ नश॑त् ॥ उग्रं युयुज्म पृतनासु सासहिमृणकातिमदाभ्यम् । वेदा भृमं चित्सनिता रथीतमो वाजिनं यमिदू नशत् ॥
We join (to our rite) the mighty Indra, the subduer of enemies in battles, the inviolate, him to whompraise is due as a debt; he, the best of charioteers, knows (among steeds) the strong racer, and (among men)he, the bounteous (knows) the offerer whom he is to reach.
english translation
यत॑ इन्द्र॒ भया॑महे॒ ततो॑ नो॒ अभ॑यं कृधि । मघ॑वञ्छ॒ग्धि तव॒ तन्न॑ ऊ॒तिभि॒र्वि द्विषो॒ वि मृधो॑ जहि ॥ यत इन्द्र भयामहे ततो नो अभयं कृधि । मघवञ्छग्धि तव तन्न ऊतिभिर्वि द्विषो वि मृधो जहि ॥
Indra, give us security from him of whom we are afraid, Maghavan, be strong for us with yourprotections; destroy our enemies, destroy those who harm us.
english translation
त्वं हि रा॑धस्पते॒ राध॑सो म॒हः क्षय॒स्यासि॑ विध॒तः । तं त्वा॑ व॒यं म॑घवन्निन्द्र गिर्वणः सु॒ताव॑न्तो हवामहे ॥ त्वं हि राधस्पते राधसो महः क्षयस्यासि विधतः । तं त्वा वयं मघवन्निन्द्र गिर्वणः सुतावन्तो हवामहे ॥
Lord of wealth, you are (the bestower) of great wealth and a dwelling plural ce upon your worshipper; assuch, we invoke you, bearing the Soma, O Maghavan, Indra, who are to be honoured with hymns.
english translation
इन्द्र॒: स्पळु॒त वृ॑त्र॒हा प॑र॒स्पा नो॒ वरे॑ण्यः । स नो॑ रक्षिषच्चर॒मं स म॑ध्य॒मं स प॒श्चात्पा॑तु नः पु॒रः ॥ इन्द्रः स्पळुत वृत्रहा परस्पा नो वरेण्यः । स नो रक्षिषच्चरमं स मध्यमं स पश्चात्पातु नः पुरः ॥
Indra, the all-knower, the slayer of Vṛtra, the protector, is to be chosen by us; may he guard our (son),our last (son), our middle (son), may he protect us from behind and before.
