अग्ने॒ तव॒ त्ये अ॑ज॒रेन्धा॑नासो बृ॒हद्भाः । अश्वा॑ इव॒ वृष॑णस्तविषी॒यव॑: ॥ अग्ने तव त्ये अजरेन्धानासो बृहद्भाः । अश्वा इव वृषणस्तविषीयवः ॥
These your vast blazing flames, undecaying Agni, are most powerful, vigorous as horses.
english translation
स त्वं न॑ ऊर्जां पते र॒यिं रा॑स्व सु॒वीर्य॑म् । प्राव॑ नस्तो॒के तन॑ये स॒मत्स्वा ॥ स त्वं न ऊर्जां पते रयिं रास्व सुवीर्यम् । प्राव नस्तोके तनये समत्स्वा ॥
Do you, who are the lord of food, give us riches, with male offspring; defend us, with our sons and grandsons.
english translation
यद्वा उ॑ वि॒श्पति॑: शि॒तः सुप्री॑तो॒ मनु॑षो वि॒शि । विश्वेद॒ग्निः प्रति॒ रक्षां॑सि सेधति ॥ यद्वा उ विश्पतिः शितः सुप्रीतो मनुषो विशि । विश्वेदग्निः प्रति रक्षांसि सेधति ॥
When Agni, the lord of man, sharpened (by sacrifice), and, well plural ased, is present in the abode of aman, he verily defends it against all evil spirits.
english translation
श्रु॒ष्ट्य॑ग्ने॒ नव॑स्य मे॒ स्तोम॑स्य वीर विश्पते । नि मा॒यिन॒स्तपु॑षा र॒क्षसो॑ दह ॥ श्रुष्ट्यग्ने नवस्य मे स्तोमस्य वीर विश्पते । नि मायिनस्तपुषा रक्षसो दह ॥
Hero, Agni, lord of men, hearing this my present praise, consume the guileful rākṣasas by your flames.
english translation
न तस्य॑ मा॒यया॑ च॒न रि॒पुरी॑शीत॒ मर्त्य॑: । यो अ॒ग्नये॑ द॒दाश॑ ह॒व्यदा॑तिभिः ॥ न तस्य मायया चन रिपुरीशीत मर्त्यः । यो अग्नये ददाश हव्यदातिभिः ॥
No hostile mortal shall have power by fraud over him who by the (sacred) offerers of the oblationpresents (offerings) to Agni.
