यं मर्त्य॑: पुरु॒स्पृहं॑ वि॒दद्विश्व॑स्य॒ धाय॑से । प्र स्वाद॑नं पितू॒नामस्त॑तातिं चिदा॒यवे॑ ॥ यं मर्त्यः पुरुस्पृहं विदद्विश्वस्य धायसे । प्र स्वादनं पितूनामस्ततातिं चिदायवे ॥
Him who is the desired of many, the (devout) man recognizes as the sustainer of all, the flavour of food, the provider of dwellings for men.
english translation
स हि ष्मा॒ धन्वाक्षि॑तं॒ दाता॒ न दात्या प॒शुः । हिरि॑श्मश्रु॒: शुचि॑दन्नृ॒भुरनि॑भृष्टतविषिः ॥ स हि ष्मा धन्वाक्षितं दाता न दात्या पशुः । हिरिश्मश्रुः शुचिदन्नृभुरनिभृष्टतविषिः ॥
He crops the dry ground strewn (with grass and wood), like an animal grazing; he with a golden beard, with shining teeth, vast, and of irresistible strength.
english translation
शुचि॑: ष्म॒ यस्मा॑ अत्रि॒वत्प्र स्वधि॑तीव॒ रीय॑ते । सु॒षूर॑सूत मा॒ता क्रा॒णा यदा॑न॒शे भग॑म् ॥ शुचिः ष्म यस्मा अत्रिवत्प्र स्वधितीव रीयते । सुषूरसूत माता क्राणा यदानशे भगम् ॥
Bright as an axe is he to whom the (worshipper), like Atri, proceeds (to offer worship); he whom his prolific mother has brought forth, bestowing (a benefactor on the world), when (Agni) obtains (sacrificial) food.
english translation
आ यस्ते॑ सर्पिरासु॒तेऽग्ने॒ शमस्ति॒ धाय॑से । ऐषु॑ द्यु॒म्नमु॒त श्रव॒ आ चि॒त्तं मर्त्ये॑षु धाः ॥ आ यस्ते सर्पिरासुतेऽग्ने शमस्ति धायसे । ऐषु द्युम्नमुत श्रव आ चित्तं मर्त्येषु धाः ॥
To you, Agni, the accepter of the oblation, the upholder (of all), there is plural asure (from our praise); do you bestow upon these your worshippers wealth, and food and a heart (grateful for your favour).
english translation
इति॑ चिन्म॒न्युम॒ध्रिज॒स्त्वादा॑त॒मा प॒शुं द॑दे । आद॑ग्ने॒ अपृ॑ण॒तोऽत्रि॑: सासह्या॒द्दस्यू॑नि॒षः सा॑सह्या॒न्नॄन् ॥ इति चिन्मन्युमध्रिजस्त्वादातमा पशुं ददे । आदग्ने अपृणतोऽत्रिः सासह्याद्दस्यूनिषः सासह्यान्नॄन् ॥
May the sage who is in this manner the offerer of exclusive praise (Agni, to you), accept the cattle which are to be given to you; and thereupon may Atri overcome (hostile) men.
