किमादम॑त्रं स॒ख्यं सखि॑भ्यः क॒दा नु ते॑ भ्रा॒त्रं प्र ब्र॑वाम । श्रि॒ये सु॒दृशो॒ वपु॑रस्य॒ सर्गा॒: स्व१॒॑र्ण चि॒त्रत॑ममिष॒ आ गोः ॥ किमादमत्रं सख्यं सखिभ्यः कदा नु ते भ्रात्रं प्र ब्रवाम । श्रिये सुदृशो वपुरस्य सर्गाः स्वर्ण चित्रतममिष आ गोः ॥

sanskrit

May we in any manner proclaim your friendship for your friends? when may (we make known) your fraternal regard? the efforts of the well-looking Indra are for the happiness of all; the wonderful form of the moving (Indra) is, like the sun, ever wished for.

english translation

kimAdama॑traM sa॒khyaM sakhi॑bhyaH ka॒dA nu te॑ bhrA॒traM pra bra॑vAma | zri॒ye su॒dRzo॒ vapu॑rasya॒ sargA॒: sva1॒॑rNa ci॒trata॑mamiSa॒ A goH || kimAdamatraM sakhyaM sakhibhyaH kadA nu te bhrAtraM pra bravAma | zriye sudRzo vapurasya sargAH svarNa citratamamiSa A goH ||

द्रुहं॒ जिघां॑सन्ध्व॒रस॑मनि॒न्द्रां तेति॑क्ते ति॒ग्मा तु॒जसे॒ अनी॑का । ऋ॒णा चि॒द्यत्र॑ ऋण॒या न॑ उ॒ग्रो दू॒रे अज्ञा॑ता उ॒षसो॑ बबा॒धे ॥ द्रुहं जिघांसन्ध्वरसमनिन्द्रां तेतिक्ते तिग्मा तुजसे अनीका । ऋणा चिद्यत्र ऋणया न उग्रो दूरे अज्ञाता उषसो बबाधे ॥

sanskrit

Resolving to kil the oppressing, malevolent (rākṣasi), not acknowledging Indra, he sharpened his sharp weapons for (her) destruction, and the fierce (Indra) the canceller of debts, has kept afar the unknown dawns in which the debts (are to be paid).

english translation

ऋ॒तस्य॒ हि शु॒रुध॒: सन्ति॑ पू॒र्वीॠ॒तस्य॑ धी॒तिर्वृ॑जि॒नानि॑ हन्ति । ऋ॒तस्य॒ श्लोको॑ बधि॒रा त॑तर्द॒ कर्णा॑ बुधा॒नः शु॒चमा॑न आ॒योः ॥ ऋतस्य हि शुरुधः सन्ति पूर्वीॠतस्य धीतिर्वृजिनानि हन्ति । ऋतस्य श्लोको बधिरा ततर्द कर्णा बुधानः शुचमान आयोः ॥

sanskrit

Many are the waters of ṛta; the adoration of ṛta destroys iniquities; the intelligent and brilliant praise of ṛta has opened the deaf (ears) of man.

english translation

R॒tasya॒ hi zu॒rudha॒: santi॑ pU॒rvIRR॒tasya॑ dhI॒tirvR॑ji॒nAni॑ hanti | R॒tasya॒ zloko॑ badhi॒rA ta॑tarda॒ karNA॑ budhA॒naH zu॒camA॑na A॒yoH || Rtasya hi zurudhaH santi pUrvIRRtasya dhItirvRjinAni hanti | Rtasya zloko badhirA tatarda karNA budhAnaH zucamAna AyoH ||

ऋ॒तस्य॑ दृ॒ळ्हा ध॒रुणा॑नि सन्ति पु॒रूणि॑ च॒न्द्रा वपु॑षे॒ वपूं॑षि । ऋ॒तेन॑ दी॒र्घमि॑षणन्त॒ पृक्ष॑ ऋ॒तेन॒ गाव॑ ऋ॒तमा वि॑वेशुः ॥ ऋतस्य दृळ्हा धरुणानि सन्ति पुरूणि चन्द्रा वपुषे वपूंषि । ऋतेन दीर्घमिषणन्त पृक्ष ऋतेन गाव ऋतमा विवेशुः ॥

sanskrit

Many are the stable, sustaining, delightful forms of the embodied ṛta; the ṛta are (the pious) expectant of food; by ṛta have the kine entered into the sacrifice.

english translation

R॒tasya॑ dR॒LhA dha॒ruNA॑ni santi pu॒rUNi॑ ca॒ndrA vapu॑Se॒ vapUM॑Si | R॒tena॑ dI॒rghami॑SaNanta॒ pRkSa॑ R॒tena॒ gAva॑ R॒tamA vi॑vezuH || Rtasya dRLhA dharuNAni santi purUNi candrA vapuSe vapUMSi | Rtena dIrghamiSaNanta pRkSa Rtena gAva RtamA vivezuH ||

ऋ॒तं ये॑मा॒न ऋ॒तमिद्व॑नोत्यृ॒तस्य॒ शुष्म॑स्तुर॒या उ॑ ग॒व्युः । ऋ॒ताय॑ पृ॒थ्वी ब॑हु॒ले ग॑भी॒रे ऋ॒ताय॑ धे॒नू प॑र॒मे दु॑हाते ॥ ऋतं येमान ऋतमिद्वनोत्यृतस्य शुष्मस्तुरया उ गव्युः । ऋताय पृथ्वी बहुले गभीरे ऋताय धेनू परमे दुहाते ॥

The (worshipper) subjecting ṛta (to his will) verily enjoys ṛta; the strength ṛta is (developed) with speed, and is desirous of (possessing) water; to ṛta belong the wide and profound heaven and earth; supreme kine, they yield their milk to ṛta.
