अधा॒ यथा॑ नः पि॒तर॒: परा॑सः प्र॒त्नासो॑ अग्न ऋ॒तमा॑शुषा॒णाः । शुचीद॑य॒न्दीधि॑तिमुक्थ॒शास॒: क्षामा॑ भि॒न्दन्तो॑ अरु॒णीरप॑ व्रन् ॥ अधा यथा नः पितरः परासः प्रत्नासो अग्न ऋतमाशुषाणाः । शुचीदयन्दीधितिमुक्थशासः क्षामा भिन्दन्तो अरुणीरप व्रन् ॥
Thus, Agni, our excellent and ancient forefathers, celebrators of holy sacrifice, proceeded to (the region of) pure light, and, reciting prayers and dispersing gloom, they made manifest the purple (kine).
english translation
सु॒कर्मा॑णः सु॒रुचो॑ देव॒यन्तोऽयो॒ न दे॒वा जनि॑मा॒ धम॑न्तः । शु॒चन्तो॑ अ॒ग्निं व॑वृ॒धन्त॒ इन्द्र॑मू॒र्वं गव्यं॑ परि॒षद॑न्तो अग्मन् ॥ सुकर्माणः सुरुचो देवयन्तोऽयो न देवा जनिमा धमन्तः । शुचन्तो अग्निं ववृधन्त इन्द्रमूर्वं गव्यं परिषदन्तो अग्मन् ॥
Performers of good works, brilliant and devout, the praises of the gods have freed their birth from impurity, as (a smith heats) bronze; exciting Agni, elevating Indra, and wandering about (in search), they have gone to the vast (hidden) herd of cattle.

आ यू॒थेव॑ क्षु॒मति॑ प॒श्वो अ॑ख्यद्दे॒वानां॒ यज्जनि॒मान्त्यु॑ग्र । मर्ता॑नां चिदु॒र्वशी॑रकृप्रन्वृ॒धे चि॑द॒र्य उप॑रस्या॒योः ॥ आ यूथेव क्षुमति पश्वो अख्यद्देवानां यज्जनिमान्त्युग्र । मर्तानां चिदुर्वशीरकृप्रन्वृधे चिदर्य उपरस्यायोः ॥
Fierce (Agni), when (Indra) proclaimed the near presence of the herd of the kine of the divine (Aṅgirasas) as a herd of cattle in a well-stored stall, the progeny of mortals were thereby enabled (to perform pious acts), and the master of the family rendered competent to (provide for) the increase of posterity and (the support of) dependants.

अक॑र्म ते॒ स्वप॑सो अभूम ऋ॒तम॑वस्रन्नु॒षसो॑ विभा॒तीः । अनू॑नम॒ग्निं पु॑रु॒धा सु॑श्च॒न्द्रं दे॒वस्य॒ मर्मृ॑जत॒श्चारु॒ चक्षु॑: ॥ अकर्म ते स्वपसो अभूम ऋतमवस्रन्नुषसो विभातीः । अनूनमग्निं पुरुधा सुश्चन्द्रं देवस्य मर्मृजतश्चारु चक्षुः ॥
We have worshipped you (Agni), and have thereby become the performers of a good work, adoring the full and variously delighting Agni, the beautiful lustre of the radiant divinity, when the brilliant dawns have arrayed (themselves) in light.

ए॒ता ते॑ अग्न उ॒चथा॑नि वे॒धोऽवो॑चाम क॒वये॒ ता जु॑षस्व । उच्छो॑चस्व कृणु॒हि वस्य॑सो नो म॒हो रा॒यः पु॑रुवार॒ प्र य॑न्धि ॥ एता ते अग्न उचथानि वेधोऽवोचाम कवये ता जुषस्व । उच्छोचस्व कृणुहि वस्यसो नो महो रायः पुरुवार प्र यन्धि ॥
Creator, Agni, we have repeated these your praises to you who are all-wise; do you accept them;blaze aloft; make us opulent; do you who are worshipped by many bestow upon us ample wealth.
