सेमाम॑विड्ढि॒ प्रभृ॑तिं॒ य ईशि॑षे॒ऽया वि॑धेम॒ नव॑या म॒हा गि॒रा । यथा॑ नो मी॒ढ्वान्त्स्तव॑ते॒ सखा॒ तव॒ बृह॑स्पते॒ सीष॑ध॒: सोत नो॑ म॒तिम् ॥ सेमामविड्ढि प्रभृतिं य ईशिषेऽया विधेम नवया महा गिरा । यथा नो मीढ्वान्त्स्तवते सखा तव बृहस्पते सीषधः सोत नो मतिम् ॥
Inasmuch, Bṛhaspati, as you rule (over all), accept this our propitiation; we worship you with this new and solemn hymn; since this your friend, our benefactor, celebrates you, do you fulfil our desires.
english translation
यो नन्त्वा॒न्यन॑म॒न्न्योज॑सो॒ताद॑र्दर्म॒न्युना॒ शम्ब॑राणि॒ वि । प्राच्या॑वय॒दच्यु॑ता॒ ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॒रा चावि॑श॒द्वसु॑मन्तं॒ वि पर्व॑तम् ॥ यो नन्त्वान्यनमन्न्योजसोतादर्दर्मन्युना शम्बराणि वि । प्राच्यावयदच्युता ब्रह्मणस्पतिरा चाविशद्वसुमन्तं वि पर्वतम् ॥
(You are) that Brahmaṇaspati who, by his might, has humbled those who deserved humiliation; who in his wrath rent the clouds asunder; who sent down the undescending (waters); and made way into the mountain (cave), opulent (in cattle).
english translation
तद्दे॒वानां॑ दे॒वत॑माय॒ कर्त्व॒मश्र॑थ्नन्दृ॒ळ्हाव्र॑दन्त वीळि॒ता । उद्गा आ॑ज॒दभि॑न॒द्ब्रह्म॑णा व॒लमगू॑ह॒त्तमो॒ व्य॑चक्षय॒त्स्व॑: ॥ तद्देवानां देवतमाय कर्त्वमश्रथ्नन्दृळ्हाव्रदन्त वीळिता । उद्गा आजदभिनद्ब्रह्मणा वलमगूहत्तमो व्यचक्षयत्स्वः ॥
That was the exploit, (performed) for the most divine of the gods, by which the firm (shut gates) were thrown open, the strong (barriers) were relaxed, (by him) who set the cows at liberty; who, by the (force of the) sacred prayer, destroyed Bala who dispersed the darkness and displayed the light.
english translation
अश्मा॑स्यमव॒तं ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॒र्मधु॑धारम॒भि यमोज॒सातृ॑णत् । तमे॒व विश्वे॑ पपिरे स्व॒र्दृशो॑ ब॒हु सा॒कं सि॑सिचु॒रुत्स॑मु॒द्रिण॑म् ॥ अश्मास्यमवतं ब्रह्मणस्पतिर्मधुधारमभि यमोजसातृणत् । तमेव विश्वे पपिरे स्वर्दृशो बहु साकं सिसिचुरुत्समुद्रिणम् ॥
That stone-like, solid, down-hanging, water-laden (cloud), which Brahmaṇaspati has with his strength divided, the universal solar rays have drunk up; but they have again shed together the showering and water-spreading (rain).
english translation
सना॒ ता का चि॒द्भुव॑ना॒ भवी॑त्वा मा॒द्भिः श॒रद्भि॒र्दुरो॑ वरन्त वः । अय॑तन्ता चरतो अ॒न्यद॑न्य॒दिद्या च॒कार॑ व॒युना॒ ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑: ॥ सना ता का चिद्भुवना भवीत्वा माद्भिः शरद्भिर्दुरो वरन्त वः । अयतन्ता चरतो अन्यदन्यदिद्या चकार वयुना ब्रह्मणस्पतिः ॥
For you, (worshipper), the constant and manifold (bounties of Brahmaṇaspati), through months and through years, set open the gates of the future rains, and he has appointed those results of prayer, which the two regions mutually and without effort provide.
