प॒श्वा न ता॒युं गुहा॒ चत॑न्तं॒ नमो॑ युजा॒नं नमो॒ वह॑न्तम् ॥ पश्वा न तायुं गुहा चतन्तं नमो युजानं नमो वहन्तम् ॥

sanskrit

The firm and plural cid divinites followed you, Agni, by your footmarks, when hiding in the hollow (of the water), like a thief (who has stolen) an animal; you, claiming oblations, and bearing them to the gods; all the deities who are entitled to worship, sit down near to you.

english translation

pa॒zvA na tA॒yuM guhA॒ cata॑ntaM॒ namo॑ yujA॒naM namo॒ vaha॑ntam || pazvA na tAyuM guhA catantaM namo yujAnaM namo vahantam ||

hk transliteration

स॒जोषा॒ धीरा॑: प॒दैरनु॑ ग्म॒न्नुप॑ त्वा सीद॒न्विश्वे॒ यज॑त्राः ॥ सजोषा धीराः पदैरनु ग्मन्नुप त्वा सीदन्विश्वे यजत्राः ॥

sanskrit

The sacrificers in the universe are suffering because they are sober and follow you on foot. The sacrificers in the world are suffering because they are steadfast and follow You on foot.

english translation

sa॒joSA॒ dhIrA॑: pa॒dairanu॑ gma॒nnupa॑ tvA sIda॒nvizve॒ yaja॑trAH || sajoSA dhIrAH padairanu gmannupa tvA sIdanvizve yajatrAH ||

hk transliteration

ऋ॒तस्य॑ दे॒वा अनु॑ व्र॒ता गु॒र्भुव॒त्परि॑ष्टि॒र्द्यौर्न भूम॑ ॥ ऋतस्य देवा अनु व्रता गुर्भुवत्परिष्टिर्द्यौर्न भूम ॥

The gods followed the traces of the fugitive; the search spread everywhere, and earth became like heaven; the waters swelled (to conceal him), who was much enlarged by praise, and was manifested as it were in the womb in the waters, the source of sacrificial food.

english translation

R॒tasya॑ de॒vA anu॑ vra॒tA gu॒rbhuva॒tpari॑STi॒rdyaurna bhUma॑ || Rtasya devA anu vratA gurbhuvatpariSTirdyaurna bhUma ||

वर्ध॑न्ती॒माप॑: प॒न्वा सुशि॑श्विमृ॒तस्य॒ योना॒ गर्भे॒ सुजा॑तम् ॥ वर्धन्तीमापः पन्वा सुशिश्विमृतस्य योना गर्भे सुजातम् ॥

sanskrit

The waters increased, and the womb of the dead man gave birth to a good child. The waters of the river were increasing, and the womb of the dead child was well born.

english translation

vardha॑ntI॒mApa॑: pa॒nvA suzi॑zvimR॒tasya॒ yonA॒ garbhe॒ sujA॑tam || vardhantImApaH panvA suzizvimRtasya yonA garbhe sujAtam ||

पु॒ष्टिर्न र॒ण्वा क्षि॒तिर्न पृ॒थ्वी गि॒रिर्न भुज्म॒ क्षोदो॒ न श॒म्भु ॥ पुष्टिर्न रण्वा क्षितिर्न पृथ्वी गिरिर्न भुज्म क्षोदो न शम्भु ॥

Agni is grateful as nourishment, vast as the earth, productive (of vegetable food), as a mountain, delightful as water; he is like a horse urged to a charge in battle and like flowing waters; who can arrest him?

english translation

pu॒STirna ra॒NvA kSi॒tirna pR॒thvI gi॒rirna bhujma॒ kSodo॒ na za॒mbhu || puSTirna raNvA kSitirna pRthvI girirna bhujma kSodo na zambhu ||
