अश्वं॒ न त्वा॒ वार॑वन्तं व॒न्दध्या॑ अ॒ग्निं नमो॑भिः । स॒म्राज॑न्तमध्व॒राणा॑म् ॥ अश्वं न त्वा वारवन्तं वन्दध्या अग्निं नमोभिः । सम्राजन्तमध्वराणाम् ॥
(I proceed) to address you, the soverign lord of sacrifice, with praises, (for you scatter our fores) like a horse (who brushes off flies with) his tail.
english translation
स घा॑ नः सू॒नुः शव॑सा पृ॒थुप्र॑गामा सु॒शेव॑: । मी॒ढ्वाँ अ॒स्माकं॑ बभूयात् ॥ स घा नः सूनुः शवसा पृथुप्रगामा सुशेवः । मीढ्वाँ अस्माकं बभूयात् ॥
May he, the son of strength, who moves everywhere fleetly, be propitious to us, and shower down (blessings).
english translation
स नो॑ दू॒राच्चा॒साच्च॒ नि मर्त्या॑दघा॒योः । पा॒हि सद॒मिद्वि॒श्वायु॑: ॥ स नो दूराच्चासाच्च नि मर्त्यादघायोः । पाहि सदमिद्विश्वायुः ॥
Do you, Agni, who go everywhere, ever protect us, whether near or afar, from men seeking to do us injury.
english translation
इ॒ममू॒ षु त्वम॒स्माकं॑ स॒निं गा॑य॒त्रं नव्यां॑सम् । अग्ने॑ दे॒वेषु॒ प्र वो॑चः ॥ इममू षु त्वमस्माकं सनिं गायत्रं नव्यांसम् । अग्ने देवेषु प्र वोचः ॥
Agni, announce to the gods this our offering, and these our newest hymns.
english translation
आ नो॑ भज पर॒मेष्वा वाजे॑षु मध्य॒मेषु॑ । शिक्षा॒ वस्वो॒ अन्त॑मस्य ॥ आ नो भज परमेष्वा वाजेषु मध्यमेषु । शिक्षा वस्वो अन्तमस्य ॥
Procure for us the food that is in heaven and mid-air, and grant us the wealth that is on earth.
