न नू॒नमस्ति॒ नो श्वः कस्तद्वे॑द॒ यदद्भु॑तम् । अ॒न्यस्य॑ चि॒त्तम॒भि सं॑च॒रेण्य॑मु॒ताधी॑तं॒ वि न॑श्यति ॥ न नूनमस्ति नो श्वः कस्तद्वेद यदद्भुतम् । अन्यस्य चित्तमभि संचरेण्यमुताधीतं वि नश्यति ॥
(Indra speaks): It is not certain what today or what tomorrow will yield to us; who comprehends this mystery; verily, the mind of any other (being) is of an unsteady (nature), and even that which has been profoundly studied, is (in time) forgotten.
english translation
na nU॒namasti॒ no zvaH kastadve॑da॒ yadadbhu॑tam । a॒nyasya॑ ci॒ttama॒bhi saM॑ca॒reNya॑mu॒tAdhI॑taM॒ vi na॑zyati ॥ na nUnamasti no zvaH kastadveda yadadbhutam । anyasya cittamabhi saMcareNyamutAdhItaM vi nazyati ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकिं न॑ इन्द्र जिघांससि॒ भ्रात॑रो म॒रुत॒स्तव॑ । तेभि॑: कल्पस्व साधु॒या मा न॑: स॒मर॑णे वधीः ॥ किं न इन्द्र जिघांससि भ्रातरो मरुतस्तव । तेभिः कल्पस्व साधुया मा नः समरणे वधीः ॥
(Agstya): Why, Indra, do you purpose to slay us; the Maruts are your brothers; share with them (the offering) in peace; destroy us not in enmity.
english translation
kiM na॑ indra jighAMsasi॒ bhrAta॑ro ma॒ruta॒stava॑ । tebhi॑: kalpasva sAdhu॒yA mA na॑: sa॒mara॑Ne vadhIH ॥ kiM na indra jighAMsasi bhrAtaro marutastava । tebhiH kalpasva sAdhuyA mA naH samaraNe vadhIH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकिं नो॑ भ्रातरगस्त्य॒ सखा॒ सन्नति॑ मन्यसे । वि॒द्मा हि ते॒ यथा॒ मनो॒ऽस्मभ्य॒मिन्न दि॑त्ससि ॥ किं नो भ्रातरगस्त्य सखा सन्नति मन्यसे । विद्मा हि ते यथा मनोऽस्मभ्यमिन्न दित्ससि ॥
(Indra): Wherefore, brother Agastya, do you, who are my friend, treat me with regard; verily, we know what is in your mind; you do not intend to give us anything.

kiM no॑ bhrAtaragastya॒ sakhA॒ sannati॑ manyase । vi॒dmA hi te॒ yathA॒ mano॒'smabhya॒minna di॑tsasi ॥ kiM no bhrAtaragastya sakhA sannati manyase । vidmA hi te yathA mano'smabhyaminna ditsasi ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअरं॑ कृण्वन्तु॒ वेदिं॒ सम॒ग्निमि॑न्धतां पु॒रः । तत्रा॒मृत॑स्य॒ चेत॑नं य॒ज्ञं ते॑ तनवावहै ॥ अरं कृण्वन्तु वेदिं समग्निमिन्धतां पुरः । तत्रामृतस्य चेतनं यज्ञं ते तनवावहै ॥
(Agastya): Let the priests decorate the altar; let them kindle the fire to the east; and then let us both consummate the sacrifice, the inspirerof immortal (wisdom).

araM॑ kRNvantu॒ vediM॒ sama॒gnimi॑ndhatAM pu॒raH । tatrA॒mRta॑sya॒ ceta॑naM ya॒jJaM te॑ tanavAvahai ॥ araM kRNvantu vediM samagnimindhatAM puraH । tatrAmRtasya cetanaM yajJaM te tanavAvahai ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्वमी॑शिषे वसुपते॒ वसू॑नां॒ त्वं मि॒त्राणां॑ मित्रपते॒ धेष्ठ॑: । इन्द्र॒ त्वं म॒रुद्भि॒: सं व॑द॒स्वाध॒ प्राशा॑न ऋतु॒था ह॒वींषि॑ ॥ त्वमीशिषे वसुपते वसूनां त्वं मित्राणां मित्रपते धेष्ठः । इन्द्र त्वं मरुद्भिः सं वदस्वाध प्राशान ऋतुथा हवींषि ॥
(Agastya); You, Vasupati, are the lord of riches; you, Mitrapati, are the firm stay (of us), your friends; declare, Indra, along with the Maruts, (your approval of our acts), and partake of the oblation offered in due season.
