कर्दमस्त्वब्रवीद्वाक्यं सुतार्थं परमं हितम् । द्विजाः शृणुत मद्वाक्यं यच्छ्रेयः पार्थिवस्य हि ॥ 7-90-11 ॥
Then Kardama spoke a word for his son's sake, supremely beneficial: "O Brahmins, hear my word, which is for the welfare of the king."
english translation
नान्यं पश्यामि भैषज्यमन्तरा वृषभध्वजम् । नाश्वमेधात्परो यज्ञः प्रियश्चैव महात्मनः । तस्माद्यजामहे सर्वे पार्थिवार्थे दुरासदम् ॥ 7-90-12 ॥
"I see no other remedy save the god whose banner bears the bull. There is no sacrifice higher than the horse-sacrifice, and it is dear to the great-souled one. Therefore let us all perform, for the king's sake, that rite hard for others to accomplish."
english translation
कर्दमेनैवमुक्तास्तु सर्व एव द्विजर्षभाः । रोचयन्ति स्म तं यज्ञं रुद्रस्याराधनं प्रति ॥ 7-90-13 ॥
Thus addressed by Kardama, all those bulls among the twice-born approved of that sacrifice as a means of propitiating Rudra.
english translation
संवर्तस्य तु राजर्षेः शिष्यः पुरपुरञ्जयः । मरुत्त इति विख्यातस्तं यज्ञं समुपाहरत् ॥ 7-90-14 ॥
And the disciple of the royal sage Samvarta, the conqueror of enemy cities, renowned by the name Marutta, undertook that sacrifice.
english translation
ततो यज्ञो महानासीद्बुधाश्रमसमीपतः । रुद्रश्च परमं तोषमाजगाम महायशाः ॥ 7-90-15 ॥
Then a great sacrifice took place near the hermitage of Budha, and the illustrious Rudra came thither, attaining the highest satisfaction.
